Who we are
Our Story
The problem we saw
Most people want to manage their waste responsibly, but they don’t know where to start. We see this every day: unused electronics piling up in homes, used cooking oil poured down drains, plastic waste finding its way into rivers, and textiles being discarded without a second thought. The intention to improve exists, but access, awareness, and tracking are often missing.
Why we started ServCare
ServCare was founded on 10 December 2021 in Pune to close this gap. We believed that responsible waste disposal should be as simple and accessible as everyday services. Our goal was to create a system that not only collects waste but also helps people understand, track, and manage it responsibly.
Building the foundation
In our first year, we focused on understanding the complexities of E-waste management. We obtained the required authorizations from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and the Central Pollution Control Board, while simultaneously developing the ServCare digital platform to support transparent and accountable waste handling.
From idea to operations
Our active operations began on 26 January 2023, after receiving consent to operate from MPCB. Starting with E-waste collection and awareness drives, we soon recognized the need for responsible solutions for Plastic Waste, Used Cooking Oil, and Textile Waste. Over time, ServCare evolved into a one-stop solution for multiple waste streams, designed for both individuals and bulk generators.
How we operate today
To reduce the environmental impact of collection, we use electric vehicles (EVs) for collecting E-waste, plastic waste, and used cooking oil. By transporting approximately 175,000 kg of waste using EVs, we eliminate diesel exhaust emissions during collection and help reduce local air pollution. This approach supports a more efficient circular economy by addressing emissions at the very first stage of waste management.
Creating value from waste
We work closely with bulk waste generators, hotels and restaurants, educational institutions, event organisers, healthcare centres, and individual consumers to ensure waste is not simply discarded, but responsibly processed. This enables outcomes such as:
- Conversion of used cooking oil into biodiesel.
- Recycling of plastics into reusable products.
- Urban mining of E-waste to recover valuable materials.
- Repurposing textiles to reduce fabric waste.
What we believe
When you see a ServCare vehicle at your doorstep, it represents more than waste collection. It reflects our belief that waste management should be responsible, transparent, and accessible, and that caring for the air we breathe and the ground we walk on starts with everyday actions.
